Girls 1st Birthday

Hello, I am so cold today I have got lots of layers on but just can't seem to warm up. Here is a card I have made for a friend's friend little girl.

Apparatus:

Gems

Ribbon

Cardstock

Souffle the duck image from popcorn series

Alphabet digi images

Bind it Machine

My Craft Studio Pro

Method:

Using MCS on landscape I arranged my letters on the lower half of the card and copied the letters I wanted to decoupage onto the top half of the card. I then added Souffle and copied this so it could also be decoupaged. After printing I cut the individual letters that I was going to layer out and cut the name 'Annie' and Souffle image into a rectangle. I than cut my piece of A4 pink card in half and just trimmed a little off the end of each piece (this means that you can make a envelope out of a piece of 12/12 - and don't have lots of waste as you would with a piece of A3). I then used the bind-it machine to make some holes down the side of my card and threaded individual pieces of pink ribbon through and tied them in a knot. I then mounted my Annie onto the card, added the decoupage and a few gems.

Have a lovely day

Cards For The Boys

Good Afternoon, I have managed to make some more cards for my stall and the photo shows a little selection of them. I wasn't sure about them at first but now I have looked at them again this morning they have grown on me.
Here is a list of ingredients
The images were bought from a website called WWW.Scrappindoodles.com
Backing Papers and greetings free from an issue of Simply Cards and Papercraft
White Card
Coloured Card
Scraps of Ribbon
I cut everything out on Friday night while watching Big Bro and then matted and layered everything yesteday. Which is the way I am planning to now do my batches of cards instead of sitting there and only managing to make one card a night. !
Happy Sunday

Kanban Girl Stamps and Paper Piecing

Good afternoon, sorry I have been such a bad blogger I don't know where the time has gone recently. TC has started reception class at school and so I have been a bit occupied with that. He was so ready to go to school but has made us laugh with some of the things he has been saying. One frantic morning this week he instructed me 'To keep your feathers on love' I don't know how I kept my face straight and goodness knows where he has had that saying from.

Also I am trying to get a load of cards made as I have signed myself up to do my very first craft stall to which I will donate some of my funds to the local hospice. As is always the case though I have had card makers block ! Anyway I now feel my mojo is returning so I need to now make a least ten cards a week between now and the end of November.

I am now set for the afternoon, hubby and TC are sat in front of the TV watching the football and I have come and locked myself in the craft room and will only leave if I need chocolate.

I have made these cards using my new Kanban Stamps, I stamped them onto white card and coloured them in using my copics and then stamped again onto patterned paper, cut the dress etc out and then glued it on to the image I had colored in. I then just matted and layered a few layers and added a few gems.

The square card is for TC's little friend at school he wanted to send her a card as he had missed here over the summer - bless.

Let me know what you think of my samples.

Following Lindsy's advice from Loopy Lindseys Crafty Corner (see link at side of my blog), I am also going to enter this into Crafty Cats Friday Challenge. http://craftycatzweeklychallenge.blogspot.com/
Now lets hope all my links work !

Enjoy the weekend and Happy Crafting one and all

Lucas Word book

Hello, I made this word book ages ago for a friends little boy and then forgot about it. I have finally got around to putting the holes in the side and adding some book rings and ribbons. I thought my friend could add her own photos of her little boys christening day.

Handbag Easel

Good Afternoon, I have made this card for a friend's friend who loves handbags. I took me a while to figure out how I was going to make it but now it's finished I am really pleased with it. I had the handbag image from theclipartfairy.com. I then altered the size in my craft studio, printed the front and back of the bag, cut out the piece for the handle and stuck them together. I then folded ny square card to make the base of an easel card, drew around my handbag and cut the easel base to the same shape as the handbag. I then stuck the handbag to it, decorated the bag and matted and layered a couple of different coloured cards to stick my stopper on to (which I made from a couple of borders stuck on top of one another and added a bit of text). Perfect for all those girlies that love handbags. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday xx

Easel Wedding Card

Hello - well you can tell I'm not getting much housework done this weekend can't you - I'm back again. I have now finished off all the cards I need for this month so I can start on all the goodies for my stall. I got the easel card above as a download from http://theclipartfairy.com. I think it's a really nice idea and you can make it as simple or fancy as you like.

Good Morning, hope everyone is well, it's a bit of a rainy day here looking out of my little craft room. I have made this card for a friend's friend who has had a baby. I have got one wedding card to make and then I can start on my christmas cards and little gifts that I am going to make for a stall that I am going to do in November for the local hospice. I feel a bit tired to today - late night last night (11pm - which is very late for me) my clubbing days are definately over, gone are the times when I could stay out past 2am three night in a row !!!!

Wedding Card

Hello, I'm having a bit of a mad day, it was my intention to get up extra early and go to a certain sale this morning at 5am, but it got to 4.30 and I decided TC has got enough clothes (don't bother going for myself I find it to much of a nightmare hunting for things) so I stayed in bed until 6 !! Hubby has gone to work and TC and I went off to watch my cousins daughter get married. I took a few pics and then hurried home to get them printed off. However once I had printed the photos could I find the card that I made months ago, I have turned the house upside down looking (thank goodness I found it) on a brighter note I did manage to find my marriage certificate (missing for at least a year) and the car park passes for work (missing at least 9 months) so every cloud !!!!!!
Enjoy the rest of your day

Hello, well I finally got my birthday books finished and the Teachers all loved them which I'm really pleased about and the fact they liked them so much made it totally worth all the time it took me.
Today TC took the thank you cards in, sorry for the bad photos (especially the 1st one) - but I took them at 6.30 this morning as I was in a bit of a rush it looked ok when I took it but now it looks like I felt after I had been up half the night unable to get back to sleep after a 2.30am call of nature (I think it's my age !!!). I have to say a huge thank you to Wendy from clipart fairy where I got the 'Just to say thankyou' image from. Thank you Wendy your a treasure as is your website - I spent that long making the books that I didn't leave much time to make the cards so the image I had from Wendy meant that I was able to make the cards really quickly, and I thought for a change if I used the Zutter down the sides I could tie them with ribbon and make them a bit fancy. The easel card was made as a special card as one of TC's teachers has decided to retire and we have known her for a long time. She wouldn't thank me for reminding her but she was doing teacher training when I was at nursery which was in the mid 70's so I think she well deserves a rest !!!!
Anyway better go got a new baby card to make plus an envelope to make for a wedding card !!

Plush Pals

Two posts in one day whatever next. I made a quick card today using this new fab crafting CD called Plush Pals by Ella's Design, it's so cute, there are alphabets, lots of lovely 'plush pals' to craft with, pre designed cards and loads more. I bought mine from a craft shop in Frodsham but I think it is also available on Ellas Design Blog.
I just printed out the letters and the elephant, decoupaged them and added a little bit of flower soft to the elephants ears.
Well must go and do some crafting, I still haven't started putting my Birthday books together !

Birthday Book

Hello - well I have finally finished making my prototype birthday book for my little boy to take into his Nursery teachers on the last day - I'm sure they must get fed up of chocolates and biscuits so I decided to make them something instead (think of all the calories they will save), plus TC chose all the images and is helping print them off.
I got the idea of the Birthday Book from a crafting CD called Plush Pals by Ellas Design (ellas-design.blogspot.com)
I'm really pleased with the one I've made - now I just need to get everything printed off (in progress as I type) and then all stuck together. It has improved my PC skills as I did the template for the calendar in word, saved it as a PDF, copied this into paint and then transfered that into My Craft Studio Professional so I could the add the images and the months at the top of the page !
I'm sure there was probably an easier way but I couldn't figure it out, so this evening it's a nice glass of wine and lots of cutting, matting and layering for me, its a good job that school doesn't finish until next week I have got four to make plus four thank you cards !

Bookmarks for School Fair

Good Morning - sorry for not blogging for a couple of weeks I don't know where the time has gone. I have been making and doing I just haven't had time to get on the PC. I have made a stack of bookmarks for my little boy's school fair, the photo's are a bit naff but I was really pleased with the final product. I used Joanna Sheens Messy Rabbit discs, printed the images off and mounted them on card to make them a bit stronger.

Now I am in the process of making Thank You cards and Birthday and Anniversary Reminder books for my little boy to give to his teachers when he finishes his final week of nursery. Watch this space for how I have done !

Father's Day

Hello, I don't know where the past two weeks have gone - time has just flown by. The number of cards I have got to make for birthdays etc is growing by the day and I want to make some bookmarks for my little boy's summer fair. I managed to make a couple of cards last night while watching football / big brother for fathers day. I have lots of ideas in my head for the various cards I want to make but have to keep stopping to do the washing, cooking, other household chores - I need a maid !!!
Have a fab weekend, love Kitty

Sunday, 6 June 2010

Hello - hope you are enjoying your Sunday, I made this card using papers from from the kanban All seasons CD - I just loved the flower paper so much I thought it was a shame to cover it up, so I just added one of the gift tags on the disc and a jewel. xx

Crafters Companion #1

Good morning, This is the card I made last night I'm going to enter it into the Crafters Companion Challenge. You start off with the sketch they provide and work from that. I started with a 7" by 7"base and then mattted and layered onto it with the olive and pale orange card I then used a piece of floral paper from the popcorn floral CD. I used the cuttlebug to emboss the white card and used a popcorn topper as the central image. I rounded all my corners (I'm obsessed with having round corners) and then gave it a coat of silver spray and shine.

I think this is about the third sketch I have followed to make a card and I have found them really good and very inspiring. I have found using the sketches is a great way to combine lots of different techniques and a nice way of using papers and embelishments in your craft box that you were perhaps a little unsure of how to use.

Have a lovely day from

Hello we have been for a swim this morning and I should now really be doing the housework but I thought I would look for a crafting challenge to do instead - the housework can wait.
Here are a few of the cards I have made from all the christenings we have been to recently.
The alphabets are from a CD from http://www.theclipartfairy.com/ I then added an image and here and there gave a spray with crafters companion spray and sparkle.

Entry for Fairymoon Sketch #21

Good evening - it's been such a lovely sunny day - went shopping today to buy my little boy some new shoes - we came back with two pairs plus I managed to get some christmas shopping done !!!

I know it's only June but if you see some bargains then you have to buy them don't you - plus the fact when it comes to December I can avoid the crowds and stay at home and make some cards :-)

Here is a card that I made this morning I am going to enter it into the fairymoon crafts (http://fairymooncrafts.blogspot.com) sketch challenge. The sketch for this week was #21 and the colour needed to be black and white.

I made it using some plain cardstock which I layered up I embossed the panels and the label with the cuttlebug and punched the border with one of the Martha Stewart edge punches, then just finished it off with a piece of ribbon and some jewels - and I can't seem to make a card without rounding the corners !

Have a lovely evening x

Mum's Posh Hat

I made this card using one of the alphabets from a CD from theclipartfairy.com. I printed it out several times and decoupaged the letters adding some fine glitter around the edges of the final layer- to give them a bit of bling ! I then added a forever friends bear from the Forever Friends Collectors CD and a couple of jewels.
