Happy New Year.......almost

Good Afternoon Everyone

Hope everyone has had an amazing Christmas.

I can't believe another year has come and gone - the older you get the quicker the time passes.  Thought I would share with you a few of the calendars that I have made this week.  I thought we could send some out as thank you's for TC's Christmas presents and also a few to my friends as thank you's following the wonderful gifts I received for my 40th birthday recently.  Sorry about the quality of the photos - I can never get the light right in the house and it's pouring with rain outside so I can't go out there to take any photos. (Not that I'm complaining about the rain - it's better than the snow - so I'm happy to have poor quality photos if it means the snow stays away).  I have just realised that one of the calendars looks a bit creased so apologies for that also - Mum and Dad will have to have that one.

Anyway I babble - and that's before I have had a glass of my M&S Kia Royale-  that's chilling in the fridge as we speak.  Not sure that Mr Kitty and I will manage to stay awake to see in the new year (we haven't done for the past few years) we normally get woken up by all the fireworks that are let off - or the phone ringing (note to self - unplug phone !)  I know it sounds a bit miserable but I feel so much better for the early night and not staggering in at daft o'clock - I feel younger now than I did when I was 29 !!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention my poor feet - I dread to think how many times I walked home from the pub with no shoes on cos my big boots have started to hurt my feet.

So it will be a couple of games of junior monopoly for us and maybe even a game of bingo (can't you tell TC is at that age).  A glass of cava a couple of alpini chocolates and a fab night in with my boys - perfect :-)

Have a fabulous evening and happy 2012

Baking At Kitty's House

Hello

We have been baking here at Kitty-Cat headquarters - Mr Kitty has been at work so once the jobs were done out came the scales and the mixing bowls.

TC made chocolate cakes, I made fairy cakes with dried fruit in them (Mr Kitty Cat doesn't do chocolate - which is a blessing cos it means more for me).

We have been inspired by the Great British Bake Off (although Mary Berry would have a turn if she did actually see my fairy cakes as they are all different sizes !!!!) my Tuesday nights are just not the same now it has finished, well done to all the contestants who made it to the shows but a special well done to Jo, I was proper chuffed she won.

So while the fairy's were cooking we moved onto making English Muffins following a recipe from Lorraine Pascale's new book Home Cooking Made Easy. Unfortunately I discovered that I had run out of strong white bread flour - so we had to make ours out of wholemeal but I am still really pleased with them. They were so easy to make - I couldn't believe it.

Happy Saturday, Thanks for stopping By

Wedding Card

Good Morning

I can't believe what a bad blogger I have been and that I haven't posted since May !!! I don't even know what I have been doing - and I think I lost my inspiration a little - anyway hopefully it's back now.

I just wanted to share with you the creations I have made for my gorgeous friend Sophie who asked me to make her wedding invitations - Sophie and Martin get married next year in Cyprus and they wanted their invites to be a little less traditional than normal invites. Sophie came up with the idea of a flip-flop and I thought - I have got just the thing on the Life's a Beach cricuit cartridge. I am really pleased with them !!!

Sophie hasn't seen the completed set yet - they are sat on my desk awaiting collection as Soph and Martin have been on their jollys.

So if you are reading this Sophie hope you had a wonderful holiday and once again a big congratulations on setting the date for the big day - I wish you both all the happiness in the world.

........To the rest of my fellow crafting buddies and followers I promise to post a bit more often over the next few months.

Thanks for visiting, Kitty xxxx

Slice of cake - very few calories !!!!

Hello Everyone

I just have to share with you a little project I have been working on. Crochet slices of cake, when I saw them I just fell in love with them and thought I have to have a go at making some of those. I got the pattern from here http://www.etsy.com/shop/lynnespatternparlour and you can find Lynnes blog here http://lynnespatternparlour.blogspot.com/. Lynne has some beautiful patterns and her instructions are really easy to follow (I have managed to progress from Granny Squares to this).

Happy Tuesday, thanks for stopping by and for leaving any comments.

Har Repotter from Bugaboo Digital Stamps

Hello Everyone

I can't believe it's so long since I blogged - I think I lost my mojo a little bit and I just don't know where the time has gone. Just a quick post today to show you the card I made for TC, who turned 5 a few weeks ago. I couldn't resist these images when I found them at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/. Although TC isn't a really big fan of Harry (I think he is still a bit young) he does know who he is and who all the other characters are (which is more than I do - hence why I haven't got the colours right of all the characters, hair colours, outfits etc etc as Mr Kitty-Cat kindly pointed out when I finished my card :-( ). When TC was really little (he's always been a talker - took forever to walk but would have a full blown conversation with any adult at just turned two) I think he was about two we could be out in the car and all of a sudden he would say 'look there is Harrypottomus' !! Mr Kitty-Cat and I would look at one another and think who's he talking about - we thought it was someone on Cebeebies. It was only one day when we were all sat around watching TV and there was a trailer for one of the films that we realised who he was talking about. We think we must have kept driving past a poster of him at the bus stop and that was where he saw Harrypottomus. - Bless him.

Anyway better go - I will try and be a better blogger this week !

Love and hugs

Ladybird For The Lovely Faye

Hello just a quickie from me this evening, this is just a little card for the lovely Faye over at http://stampinfluffnstuff.blogspot.com/ who so kindly helped with my blinkie nightmare on Saturday. If it hadn't been for Faye I would have eaten my own weight in chocolate digestives and then probably started on the wine (that is a joke about the wine if my parents or Mr Kitty cat are reading this - a bottle of wine can last me at least a week these days in fact it has virtually turned to vinegar by the time I get to the end of a bottle).

Anyway the wonderful Faye sorted out my problem and now I can display everyone's blinkies to my hearts content.

Happy Sunday Everyone

Kitty xx

PS I forgot to say the card is made from Polka Doodles paper and tag sentiment and the ladybird ribbon was a freebie from http://www.craftyribbons.com/ recently when I bought some beautiful dotty ribbons, In fact I got the ribbons in 32 different colours and they look so nice I dont want to use them !!!!!!

Willow Sketchie Challenge

Hello I hope everyone is having a fabulous Easter and that as well as having lots of fun and eating plenty of chocolate everyone is having time to put their feet up.

Here is my creation for the Willow Sketchie Challenge of which all the details can be found here http://willowsketchiechallenge.blogspot.com/.

To make this card I used the sketch above which can be found on the blog (although I did turn mine around) and an image from the new Polka Doodles Double Sprinkles CD which I coloured in using my Pro-Markers. I can't praise the CD enough as Sharon gives fabulous tutorials on how to colour all the characters in. I then used some papers that I had free in creative cardmaking, many moons ago. Using the cocktail sticks I then did a little bit of knitting and stuck a bead on the end of my sticks.

I have a bit of time off work now so hopefully I will be able to make a few cards this week.

Thanks for Reading

Artwork By TC Age 4

Hello, Just a quick post to share with you a few of the pictures TC has drawn this evening, I knows he's my boy and therefore I am bias but I just think they are so cute. The one of the couple at the top is his interpretation of William and Kate - standing in a crown !

Next post will be a card I promise.

Have a lovely evening

Mice are Nice - Lili of the Valley

Hello - April is a month when I have so many birthdays so it's a good excuse to start using all those crafty supplies I have bought recently, although don't tell Mr Kitty Cat as he thinks I have had them for ages (in fact since before we were married) and I didn't see the point in correcting him. I love the set of stamps Mice are Nice from Lili Of The Valley, they are just so cute - when I saw them I thought I am just going to have to have them and I was barely able to think of anything else until they arrived at Kitty Quarters. Then of course when they did arrive I didn't want to get them inky ! Anyway I am finally over that now and this is my first creation ! Hopefully Little Anne is off baking cakes and isn't reading my blog or she will have seen her birthday card.

TC came home from school today (very excited) and announced that he has been Jesus for the day and they have been learning all about the Easter Story - I can't quite make out what he has been doing but he has certainly had lots of fun, learnt a lot and that makes me a happy Mummy.

Anyhow as well as the LOTV stamp I also used Pink Petticoat Paper, a Marianne Designs Die (for the flower) and my Promarkers to colour in.

Better go it is Milk, Story and bedtime for my little Man.

Polka Doodles - Double Sprinkles

Hello - it's been such a beautiful day, thought I would share with you the card I have created today using the new CD from Polka Doodles. The CD is fab and provides tutorials to help you colour the images in and gives tips on how to use your pro markers if you are new to them like me. The backing paper is a pink petticoat one and the flower is made using one of the dies from Marianne Design. The card is for a friend who will be celebrating her birthday on Tuesday.

Poor TC has been up half the night coughing - hence I to have been up half the night as well. Bless he's been in bed all afternoon - not even an M&S hot cross bun (they are his fav's and he can tell if they have come from any where else other than M&S - he's 4 !!!!!) would tempt him to eat anything - so it's an early night for me. Feet up and an episode of Rosemary and Thyme - to be honest the amount of crime dramas I watch it's a wonder I sleep at night at all.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hot Cross Buns

Hiya - very last time I will be placing a post today - none for

months and then 3 in the same day !! TC and I have also had a practice run at making hot cross buns from a recipe we found in the Morrisons magazine. You can view the magazine online at www.morrisons.co.uk/magazine if you don't have a store near you. The HCB's are really tasty and have nuts in them 9which makes them a bit different), now I have successfully made my first batch we will bake them again when it gets closer to Easter (it will keep us busy over the hols).

Bye for now

Baby Shoe

Hiya - again ! - here is another of my creations this is why I have had no time to blog I have been to busy cutting, folding and sticking !

This was made from a download from www.scrapbookingmad.com - I think it is so cute and although it took me a while to stick it together I think it was worth it (mind you when I made the second one that took me even longer !)

Polka Doodles Challenge - The spring has sprung

Hello - well I don't know where the past two months have gone and what a bad blogger I have been as I have nowhere to be seen. Well I have been to the NEC craft show but that is a different story. This is my little creation that I have made for the Polka Doodles challenge which ends on Sunday 3rd April. I made it by printing off the rabbit on the boutique CD, layered him up and added a little bit of glossy accents here and there to give him a bit of shine. I made his whiskers with dental floss and popped him onto some embossed card using the flower embossing folder from creative expressions (which I absolutely adore). Hope I am finding you well - I may even have time to place another post today as well - that's if I can remember how to attach my creation to the Polka doodle challenge ! Take Care Kitty This card is being entered for the following challenge Polka Doodles: Spring has Sprung
